    For example, there is an error of negative entries, but it is generated not by normal data entry cycle such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…, it is generated somewhere at the back end of the application, and when user presses save, the entries goes out of the boundary.

    How do you write a bug report for this kind of Defect discovery?

    If we input data class with all the values below lower limit(which includes negative & decimal values)or greater than the upper limit the boundary value gets crashed.


    But what would be the format of that bug report? I mean, how would a developer is convinced that what is causing this error? @Tanzeela

    In above case you have to provide the following:
    – Back-end Logs
    – Test data
    – Steps to reproduce.
    – Snapshots (Front-end and back-end)
    – Request / response traces
